Step Brothers



Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) tiene treinta y nueva años, vive con su madre, Nancy (Mary Steenburgen), y suele conseguir empleos esporádicos. Dale Doback (John C. Reilly), es un desempleado terminal de cuarenta años que vive con su padre, Robert (Richard Jenkins). Cuando la madre de Brennan y el padre de Dale se casan, los hombres se ven obligados a compartir casa. El narcisismo de ambos y su vagancia agresiva en seguida los llevan a una competitividad que pone en peligro el matrimonio de Nancy y Robert. Los dos niños grandes malcriados planearán una estrategia loca para que sus padres vuelvan juntos. Para lograrlo deberán formar una difícil alianza que a lo mejor, sólo a lo mejor, podría hacer que por fin se marchasen de casa.

* The fake testicles that Will Ferrell used were worth around $20,000 and presented to him as a wrap present.

* In Dale's bedroom there is a sign for Hugalo's Pizza, the same pizza place that 'Will Farrell' worked for in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006).

* The song that Brennan sings with Dale is the the song which is "Por Ti Volare" which is featured as the opening song for Will Ferrell's movie Blades of Glory (2007). Will Ferrell is actually singing and John C. Reilly is actually playing drums.

* The name of the bully in the playground is Chris Gardocki, which is the same name as a NFL punter who played for the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

* Mary Steenburgen played Will Ferrell's step mother in the Christmas film Elf (2003). In this film Mary plays Will's actual mother.

* Director Adam McKay states on the commentary that they originally went to the island of Catalina for location searches and discovered that he did not really like the island. They instead shot on the coast and during several shots, the island of Catalina can be seen. McKay chose not to have it digitally edited out as a joke.

* The song that Will Ferrell's character (Brennan Huff) sings during the Catalina Wine Mixer "Por Ti Volaire", can also be heard as the first song that Jon Heder's character (Jimmy MacElroy) in the film Blades of Glory (2007) skates to at the beginning while wearing the Peacock outfit. Will Ferrell was also in Blades of Glory as Chazz Michael Michaels.
